Apotheka Cafe & Bar

Cesky Krumlov had me drooling both at the city views and the food and drinks.

Untitled Realizing I’ll have time on my hands, I sprung inside Apotheka Cafe Bar. In the middle of the day, barely past noon. Or it could’ve been before noon.

Saw absinthe on the menu and had to get it. On asking if he could do a cocktail with it, he said he could, but recommended going for it the old fashioned way – which is essentially the spirit with simple syrup.

Have you seen how it’s prepared in fancy places like these? It’s pretty cool, with the iced water dripped over sugar that pours into the glass with the absinthe poured in already to make that drink.

Derived from the anise and fennel flower families, I absolutely love this spirit for the taste.

It tops my list. The place is cutesy, in the middle of the town.

There was a couple besides me, and another group of men. While I found that slightly intimidating – the way they were staring, knowing that Czech Republic is safe in general didn’t make me worry much.
