My lunch at Komaki Shokudo こまきしょくどう was when I finally felt that we’ve arrived in Tokyo! Food-wise, of course :p Housed inside a supermarket in Akihabara, this place needed a bit of looking around before being able to get in there.
We got there early-ish and had the place almost to ourselves. Which meant even if the toddler decided to run / roam / walk around the tables, it would be OK. And so he did. The place serves macrobiotic food, temple style. For quick cheats on what macrobiotic style is, read my Veganic to go post 🙂
I ordered the nine course meal set, which was basically everything they had on offer that day – from miso soup to rice to pickled vegetables and sides. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. It was neat, clean cooking. Which I would come to realize was the case with almost every place (being a vegetarian, remember my choice of places are limited).
Recommend the place!
And the store where it is nestled. You could even buy boxed meals here. Clearly marked whether they are vegetarian or not.
