The Meatball Shop‘s Chelsea location was our spot for a quick and early dinner on that Saturday. Here’s how the day went.
Little K enjoyed doing his bit of cleaning and making a bird feeder with Cheerios. No surprises for guessing that it was a tiny task to keep reminding him that the food was for the birds and not him 🙂
This was followed with a little packed lunch and then a quick tour of the park which I backed out of. And then we stopped in the city for a Food52 event in Flatiron. After sampling a Galliano cocktail, we stopped at The Meatball Shop for a quick dinner.
We kept the order quick and simple – The Kitchen Sink, which sounds big but is really good for one person – this was veggie balls which we got with pesto sauce and then a side of rigatoni with the classic tomato sauce. The pesto was bit too chunky with big pieces of pine nuts. Didn’t meet my expectation. The veggie balls were nice and soft. It came with a bunch of sides covering salads, vegetables, grains and beans, which were all decent.
The rigatoni with tomato sauce, you’ve got to get it right, right? 🙂
A place I’d go to with friends for a quick meal. A place I finally checked off my list, more than six years later!
