Gingersnap’s Organic

Place look and feel – Cafe-esque. Contempoary.
Food taste – Good.
Food price – Out of the park.

The place is OK to try for a work day or work evening meal. We went there for a Sunday lunch/ brunch. Knew what I was getting into, but not the place I’d suggest for a weekend sit down meal.

We tried the cauliflower rice sushi, which was average and packed no flavor. Beyond Sushi has spoilt me!

The sea roll was sunflower “tuna” or un-tuna, whatever you wish to call it, with sunflower seeds, celery, onion, sunflower oil, lemon juice, scallion, parsley, olive oil, umeboshi vinegar, dulse, sea salt, pea shoots, wrapped in romaine, and then again in nori.

Next up were kelp noodles, Thai in taste with cabbage, pea shoots, carrot, tamari almonds, mint, scallion, cilantro, basil, almond butter sauce (tamari, almond butter, maple syrup, sesame oil, ginger, lime, olive oil, lemon, nutritional yeast, garlic, chili powder).

The tomato stew painted a different picture from the description. It was quite thick, which is good. But the description said tomato, onion, olive oil, sun dried tomato, lime, coriander, sea salt with chunks of zucchini, carrots and onions.

When it arrived and I tossed the spoon to see the chunks, all I saw was onions, with a little bit of carrot and even more little zucchini thrown in.

While I wasn’t displeased with the food, I certainly am not coming here again, even for that quick bite. For the prices, yeah. They threw the ball out of the park and I am not going to go catch it again.
